Hamadryas Baboon
The hamadryas baboon, also known as the sacred baboon, is native to the arid regions of the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. These baboons have a distinctive appearance, with males sporting a silver-gray mane and females having shorter, brown fur. They are highly social animals, living in structured groups with complex hierarchies. Hamadryas baboons are omnivorous, eating fruits, seeds, insects, and small animals. Known for their adaptability, they are considered sacred in some cultures. However, habitat loss and human encroachment pose challenges to their populations.
